Each item has been placed into a category, based on its type and function.
Pants are wearable items that can be worn on your legs in Unturned, and are sometimes referred to as trousers. This category includes cargo and military pants.
Pants Item IDsShirts can be worn, and are placed in the short inventory slot. Some Unturned shirts have storage. Examples include the banana and military shirt.
Shirt Item IDsGuns are the deadliest of weapons in Unturned. They use ammunition to shoot, can have several attachments and some can even destroy walls (really!). Models range from the common simple Maple Bow to the best - the mythical, deadly Shadowstalker Mk II.
Gun Item IDsSights are Unturned weapon attachments, also known as mods. When attached to a gun, they offer improvements such as increased zoom, range and accuracy. The red dot sight, for example, does not zoom in, but allows for a clearer view when scoped in.
Sight Item IDsMagazines, sometimes referred to as mags, are inserted into guns to provide ammunition. Differentiation between magazines includes the amount of ammunition they can hold, and the gun(s) to which they can be applied.
Magazine Item IDsBarrels are attachments for guns, that can increase (or decrease) accuracy, change how bullets travel and suppress the sound of a weapon. There are a vast range of barrels available ranging from the makeshift muffler, to the best - the military range of muzzles, barrels and suppressors.
Barrel Item IDsUnturned grips are attachments for guns. Currently, there are only three in the game: vertical, bipod and horizontal. They increase shooting accuracy and ease by reducing the recoil of a gun (relative to the grip type).
Grip Item IDsBackpacks come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Their purpose is to provide extra storage space for your inventory and unsurprisingly are worn in the backpack slot. The best backpack in Unturned is the legendary Spec Ops Rucksack.
Backpack Item IDsVests in unturned not only provide armor (protection), but can provide more storage space too. The Spec Ops vest is the best vest in Unturned, with the best protection - but the vest with the most storage space is the military vest.
Vest Item IDsMasks are warn on your character's face and whilst some are purely cosmetic, masks such as the gas mask have extra functionality such as immunity to deadzones.
Mask Item IDsFood items are consumable. When consumed, they satiate hunger and/or thirst. Some foods in Unturned may also harm you, by causing sickness or other effects - for example blue berries cause your character to suffer from the hallucination effect.
Food Item IDsDrinks, also known as water, in Unturned are items that in most cases when consumed restore your character's first levels.
Drink Item IDsMedical supplies are items that heal your character's health when they are applied or consumed. Some medical items, such as the medkit, will also stop bleeding.
Medical Item IDsMelee weapons are items that can be used to deal damage to other objects and entities, such as zombies, players, structures and animals. There are a vast range of melee weapons ranging from chainsaws to axes.
Melee Item IDsHats in Unturned are primarily cosmetic items that can be equipped on your character's head and come many different colors. Some hats, notably helmets, provide armor protection and extra functions.
Hat Item IDsFuel in Unturned is used to provide fuel vehicles, items and objects. Fuel cans are refillable and have a fuel level (that can be depleted and restored). Different fuel cans hold different fuels - for example the gas can holds fuel for most vehicles (e.g. cars, planes and helicopters) and the industrial gas can is used to provide fuel for the Industrial Generator object.
Fuel Item IDsBarricades are items that can be placed to offer protection in Unturned. There are many different types of barricade. This category includes doors, ladders, gates, tables and other structures.
Barricade Item IDsStructures are the building blocks of Unturned bases, and for this reason are also known as building supplies. Each structure has a different durability and therefore a better or worse ability to withstand an attack or damage. Types of structure range from those made from wooden materials (birch being the worst) to metal structures, such as the Large Metal Plate.
Structure Item IDsCrafting supplies, which are also called resources and materials, are primarily used in the crafting of items in Unturned. Most are easily obtainable and found in vast quantities across the map.
Supply Item IDsTactical items are gun attachments. As the word tactical would suggest, these weapon mods generally have good uses. The bayonet, for example, adds a sharp blade to the barrel of your rifle.
Tactical Item IDsThrowable items consist of grenades, flares, smoke grenades and various other items including snowballs.
Throwable Item IDsTools are items that provide utilities. For example, the Walkie Talkie allows you to communicate with other players.
Tool Item IDsUnturned storage items and objects provide storage space to place items. Some storage containers can be locked, so that their inventory can only be opened by people who have been granted access.
Storage Item IDsThis category contains all seeds for crops in Unturned, which can be used to grow plants. Plants that can grow seeds include pumpkins, wheat, tomato and corn.
Farm Item IDsOptics are items that assist in sight. There is currently only one item of the optic class - binoculars. Binoculars allow you to see into the distance.
Optic Item IDsGlasses are both cosmetic and functional items in Unturned. All glasses are worn on a characters head - some have special functions, such as the night vision glasses, which allow you to better see in the dark.
Glasses Item IDsTraps in Unturned are items that can be used to trap and damage players and other entities. Examples of traps include landmines, snares and spikes.
Trap Item IDsGenerators in Unturned are used to generate electricity. This electricity is transferred to nearby objects and structures that require power.
Generator Item IDsFishing Rods in Unturned are used when fishing. Different fishing rods have different chances of catching different fish and items.
Fishing Rod Item IDsStrangely, umbrellas in Unturned don't just protect you from the rain.. they can be used to fall at a slower rate (25% of the normal rate), softening your fall and completely preventing fall damage.
Umbrella Item IDsThis category contains two items - the GPS and the Chart. These items are used to help navigate around the world in Unturned.
Map Item IDsTanks are used to store large amounts of liquid. They can be filled and emptied. Currently there are only two tanks in Unturned: the water tank, and the fuel tank.
Tank Item IDsThis category contains items relating to remote explosives, notably the detonator and both the precision and demolition charge. These can be used to cause damage to players and zombies, as well as destroy structures.
Charge Item IDsSentry guns are items that, when placed, will automatically shoot at other players, zombies and animals - different sentry guns have different behaviours, for example the friendly sentry gun will only attack hostile players and zombies.
Sentry Item IDsBoxes are items that can be both obtained as a drop in-game (randomly) and purchased from the Steam Market. When opened, they grant a random reward, with some rewards being rarer than others.
Box Item IDsKeys are items that must be purchased from the Unturned Stockpile. They are used to open boxes, which are sometimes received as drops by players in-game.
Key Item IDsThis category contains items which have not been assigned a type.
Miscellaneous Item IDsGliders are similar to parachutes, in that they decrease fall speed and stop fall damage. There are currently seven gliders in Unturned.
